Achievements in 2007-2008 School Year
- Coral Academy welcomed 2nd and 3rd graders to its campus.
- CAS students showed the strength of our art programs by getting the majority of the awards at the Fair Housing Contest.
- CAS High School Robotics team represented Northern Nevada Successfully at the International FIRST Robotics Competition in Las Vegas.
- CAS continued to hold its accreditation status with Northwest Association of Accredited Schools.
- Coral Academy was the most award receiving school at the Regional Science and Engineering Fair by getting several first, second and third places.
- The Third Annual MathMatters Competition, sponsored by CAS, attracted close to one hundred brilliant 5th grade mathematicians to our school.
- CAS students participated in Spelling Bee Contest.
- CAS MathCounts Team received 4th place in Northern Nevada.
- HS Science Olympiads team received the 3rd place, MS team received the 5th place in Nevada Regional.
- High school Robotics represented Northern Nevada very well by bringing lots of medals back home.
- CAS hosted two multicultural dinners; Dine in New Delhi and Dine in Mexico City.
- CAS sent two finalists to in Poetry Out Loud Contest.
- CAS SimCity team placed 3rd at the regional SimCity competition.
- CAS hosted local exam of U.S. National Chemistry Olympiads for Sierra Nevada Section.
- CAS Community celebrated the National Charter School week with activities including a multicultural dinner and Shakespeare Festival.
- CAS Elementary School is moving to new location at Valley Road right at the foothills of the university campus.
Achievements in 2006-2007 School Year
- CAS completed its two-year-long self study and is accredited for the fullest term given, six years from the NAAS.
- CAS SimCity team placed 2nd at the regional SimCity competition.
- CAS SimCity teacher earned special recognition at regional SimCity competition.
- The HS Science Olympiad Team won the first place, MS Science Olympiad Team won the second place at Nevada State Science Olympiads.
- High School Science Olympiad Team represented the state of Nevada at national competitions.
- CAS received a $ 76,000 dissemination grant and replicated its K-12 college preparatory educational model in Las Vegas.
- A CAS student got a $ 5,000 grant from Nickelodeon for play equipments.
- CAS held its 7th annual school-wide Science Fair with over 300 Projects.
- CAS welcomed 4th and 5th graders to its campus.
- CAS received multiple first, second, and third places at regional science and engineering fair.
- One student from CAS was invited to The Intel ISEF.
- The only high school in northern Nevada participating in US National Chemistry Olympiads.
Achievements in 2005-2006 School Year
- CAS became the only selected charter school as “Highlighted Nevada School” by the Nevada Department of Education.
- CAS received approval from the WCSD Trustees to become a K-12 school beginning in the 2006-2007 school year.
- CAS completed the first part of six years improvement plan for accreditation site visit.
- CAS held its 6th annual school-wide Science Fair with 160 Projects.
- CAS added seven classrooms to accommodate 42% enrollment increase.
- The MathCounts team placed second in the regionals and fifth at the state level.
- The Science Olympiads Team represented CAS at the Nevada Science Olympiads in Carson City and took second place.
- A CAS student took second place in Poetry Out Loud Competion at the state level.
- CAS hosted the Readers Digest Word Power Challenge competition at the Boys and Girls club and one of our students placed 1st.
Achievements in 2004-2005 School Year
- Coral Academy of Science (CAS) is accredited through Northwest Association of Accredited Schools.
- CAS was found in compliance in all areas during the WCSD annual audit. That was a “first” in charter school history in WCSD.
- CAS held its 5th Annual School Wide Science Fair with 160 Projects.
- CAS student won the 6th grade Washoe County Spelling Bee.
- CAS added a new portable computer lab with 24 wireless laptops for students.
- The Science Olympiads Team represented CAS at the Nevada Science Olympiads in Las Vegas.
- FIRST Lego League Robotics Team was the only Nevada team in the League at San Jose, CA.
- FIRST Robotics Team represented CAS in the Las Vegas Regional Competition and won the “best looking robot” award.
- CAS hosted the Readers Digest Word Power Challenge competition at the Boys and Girls club and one of our students placed 3rd.
Achievements in 2003-2004 School Year
- Second place in the Nevada Science Olympiads state competition.
- High school robotics team participated in the Silicon Valley Regional Competition in April 1-3, 2004.
- Multiple Medals in 2004 Western Nevada Science and Engineering Fair.
- We are the only Nevada team participating in FIRST Lego League robotics competitions. Our team won the Sonora
regional, and qualified for Northern California State Tournaments.
- Received special award in SimCity Future Cities Competition
